Joseph Blanco is the president of Crawford & Company, where he oversees the shared services functions and leads the company’s global centers of excellence. He serves on Crawford’s Board of Directors.
With over 20 years of legal experience, as well as three years of military experience in the U.S. Navy, Joseph uses equanimity and logic to solve complex problems. He has extensive corporate experience navigating mergers and acquisitions, as well as representing boards of directors and special committees in governance matters.
Prior to his role as president, Joseph served as Crawford & Company’s executive vice president and general counsel for four years, where he oversaw the legal, internal audit and global ethics and compliance aspects of the business. Before joining Crawford full-time, he served as its interim general counsel.
Joseph previously served as the managing partner of the Atlanta office of the world’s largest law firm, Dentons. He also held the position of vice chair of the corporate department of McKenna, Long & Aldridge LLP, prior to its merger with Dentons. Prior to law school, Joseph served in the U.S. Navy onboard the U.S.S. Nicholson (DD-982) and then on the staff of COMDESRON 4.
Joseph serves on the boards of St. Vincent de Paul of Georgia; Woodruff Arts Center; Atlanta Area Council, Boy Scouts of America; and Emory Center for Ethics. He was a member of the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2012 and the Leadership Georgia Class of 2014 and is currently a member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta.
Joseph holds a Juris Doctor degree from Emory University, where he held the position of editor-in-chief of the Emory Law Journal, and a Bachelor of Arts in economics and government from the University of Notre Dame, where he served as student body president. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.
