Bonnie Sawdey, Chief People Officer

Bonnie Sawdey has over 31 years of experience with Crawford & Company and is a member of the executive leadership team. In 2016, Sawdey became senior vice president of human resources and chief people officer. She was named Benefit Manager of the Year in 2015 by Business Insurance magazine. She is also a 2018 recipient of Atlanta Business Chronicle’s HR Hero Award. In 2019, she was named an Elite Woman by Insurance Business America, and in 2020, she was named one of Insurance Business America’s Hot 100.

Sawdey is responsible for all aspects of global human resources including developing and executing our people strategy, talent acquisition, talent management, employee relations, total rewards, HRIS and learning & development. In addition, Bonnie is a key member of the global incident response team, which has played a pivotal role in helping Crawford navigate the pandemic while putting the health and safety of employees first.

Throughout the years, she has held numerous positions within Crawford & Company’s human resources department. She joined the leadership team in 1998, when she was promoted to vice president of Corporate Benefits. Since that time, she’s served on the Company’s Plan Administration Committee and Chairman of Crawford Cares, Inc. for 5+ years (a non-profit organization she helped form to assist Crawford & Company employees impacted by natural disasters). In this role, Sawdey also implemented Crawford’s Global Day of Service, which is a key program that helps deliver on our purpose to “restore and enhance lives, businesses and communities”.

Sawdey holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in human resources management from Georgia State University. Her dedication to helping others extends beyond her work at Crawford; in October 2020, she became a board member at the Georgia Make a Wish Foundation.
