As president, chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors for Crawford & Company, Bruce Swain is responsible for leading and directing all aspects of the company's global operations, including setting the company’s strategic vision and driving long-term growth. Bruce’s career began at Crawford in 1991 handling business interruption claims. He later joined the company’s finance organization and held several management positions before being named senior vice president and controller in January 2000 and chief financial officer and executive vice president in October 2006.
Bruce has successfully guided Crawford through significant transformations over the course of his career, driving growth, building financial strength and advancing the company’s position as a market leader.
He is passionate about empowering leadership and employees to pursue innovation and customer service excellence. He is also committed to strengthening the company’s values and culture, which he has helped shape during his tenure.
Bruce is a certified public accountant and a chartered global management accountant. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accountancy from the University of Mississippi. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Georgia Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Financial Executives International, National Investor Relations Institute and the National Associate of Corporate Directors.
Bruce and his wife, Martha, reside in Atlanta, Ga. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, outdoor activities, golf, and spending time with his three grown children and two dogs.
