Tami Stevenson, General Counsel

Tami Stevenson is Crawford’s general counsel, leading the company’s global legal function, which also encompasses compliance and securities. She oversees Crawford & Company®’s corporate governance, transactional work and mergers and acquisition guidance. She joined Crawford & Company as counsel for Crawford TPA: Broadspire® in 1997, was promoted to deputy general counsel for Crawford & Company in January 2019 and then to general counsel in June 2020.

During her time as counsel for Crawford TPA: Broadspire, the business grew to an over $400 million division of Crawford & Company. Tami first assisted with the orderly transition of all workers compensation claims from Crawford to Broadspire. She also contributed to the launch of several products and services while ensuring quality claims handling results for clients. In her role as legal counsel for Crawford, she is known for acting quickly when new laws and regulations are passed so that the company is compliant. In addition, she has been instrumental in transitioning the legal department.

Prior to Crawford, Tami held several corporate counsel positions with a focus on workers’ compensation and property casualty law and she served for six years in the United States Air Force Reserves. She achieved the rank of staff sergeant as an avionics technician in the U.S. Air Force Reserve where she proudly served for eight years. Tami received the Outstanding Achievement Medal for her work in 1990. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida and a Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law in 1992. Tami was also an Honor Graduate from the U.S. Air Force Technical Training School.

Tami is a member of several legal associations, including the Florida Bar, Association for Corporate Counsel and the Society of Corporate Governance.
