Rohit Verma is the president and chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors for Crawford & Company®, a leading global provider of claims management and outsourcing solutions to insurance companies and self-insured entities. Crawford's 9,000 full-time employees and 50,000 seasonal employees across 700 offices serve clients in more than 70 countries. Verma brings international strategic expertise and a proven track record for creating momentum and growth to Crawford. As CEO, he focuses on company strategy and growth, business operations, investor relations and client relationships, with an emphasis on technology and innovation.
Verma is passionate about driving cultural and operational transformation. Under his leadership, Crawford redefined its strategy, uniting the organization with a single purpose of bringing value-added solutions to clients. He has driven growth from the front, launching the company's digital initiative, capturing new business and creating an imperative for client centricity.
Verma sees employee engagement as the most critical enabler of any organization’s success. His special interest is in identifying and developing high-potential employees early in their careers to gain greater exposure and visibility within the organization. Prior to his role at Crawford, Verma served as the regional executive for the south region of Zurich North America, where he was accountable for profitable growth and market execution. During his tenure at Zurich, Verma also served in several executive management positions across underwriting, distribution, finance, strategy and general management. His prior roles have included COO, CFO for a SME business and head of strategy for a Specialties business.
Before joining Zurich, Verma was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company. He led several engagements at McKinsey, which were often cross-functional teams of strategy, finance and IT. Verma's area of focus was insurance and banking. His work included strategy and transformation work at clients like AIG, AXA Equitable, Principal, MassMutual, Northwestern Mutual, Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse and Zurich. Verma's career has spanned three continents — Europe, Asia and North America — and he has led numerous global teams. In addition, Verma spent time as a research engineer with 30om Corporation. He holds five patents and has authored several internet standards.
Verma holds an undergraduate degree in computer engineering from the University of Delhi, India, and a master's degree from Northwestern University in Chicago. He has also attended leadership programs at Cambridge and the London Business School.
In 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2025, Verma was named one of Insurance Business’s Global Top 100, and in 2012, National Underwriters magazine recognized him as a “Top 5 Insurance Executive Under 40.” He also received the 2023 Georgia Titan 100. He is a member of the industry advisory boards of both Northwestern University and Georgia Institute of Technology and is a former member of the board for the World Affairs Council. Currently, he is a member of the board of directors for Crawford and Ameritas Holding Company. When away from work, Verma enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and playing golf.
